Lake Tahoe is filled with vacation homes for families living in and around the Bay Area. Abode Interiors was contacted by a sweet family from Santa Cruz, CA who were in need of a full refresh of their vacation ski condo on the north shore of Lake Tahoe.
This family required a complete space overhaul including new LVP flooring, carpet, paint, bathroom renovation, and lighting fixtures. The client appreciated color, pattern, texture and funky style with mid-century modern preferences and velvet furnishings. The challenge involved creating a retro, ski-chic aesthetic while maintaining modern sensibilities and coziness.
Fresh paint in Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, a new white quartz sink, bronze faucet, and updated appliances transformed the space. Natural knotty pine cabinets were retained for retro appeal, paired with geometric bronze hardware from Build.com.
Finishing touches from the Abode Shoppe completed the design.
Walls and trim received fresh paint in Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee & White Dove. Nordic-inspired mountain patterns were incorporated throughout.
An ensuite bathroom received a new shower insert, hardware, and linens for welcoming guests.
Four double bunks replaced the original twin-over-full configuration to maximize sleeping capacity. Benjamin Moore Cedar Mountains paint color was selected for a moody, cozy feel.
Bunks were sourced from Matrixkids and luxury blankets from Beddy's completed the space.
The primary bedroom is the favorite transformation of the project. This space combines mid-century modern aesthetics with mountain art accents featuring blue tones.
The design emphasizes texture, warmth, and comfortable retreat styling — a perfect escape after a day on the slopes.
